Introducing Immanuel's New Shepherd, Pastor Adam L. Scheblein

Well, the long Call Process has finally ended with Pastor Adam L. Scheblein accepting to serve at Immanuel Lutheran Church. His official duties begin on May 23rd, 2010 during a special service when The Rite of Installation will take place.

To help us better get to know our new Pastor, he has provided us with this brief bio and a photo of his smiling face, which soon will grace the halls of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Day School, and Childcare. Let's welcome our new Pastor as God continues to bless our congregation.

Pastor Adam L. SchebleinPastor Adam L. Scheblein was born in Queens, NY in 1950 and grew up on Long Island, graduating from Brentwood High School, Brentwood, NY in 1968. He received an A. A. S. degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill in 1970. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1974, being stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for three years. Upon discharge from the Navy he earned another A. A. S. degree in General Science from Suffolk County Community College, Selden, NY in 1975. He then went on to earn a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stonybrook in 1977. Pastor and Jean were married on July 2, 1977. The couple then moved to Enfield, CT. There they were blessed with two sons, Adam and Andrew.

Pastor Scheblein is a Second Career Pastor having worked for Sperry Univac Computer Corporation as a Systems Consultant in Windsor, Connecticut, and for Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company as Project Manager located in Hartford, Connecticut. Pastor entered Concordia Seminary in St. Louis on June, 1988 and graduated May 29, 1992 with Master of Divinity degree. He was immediately called from the seminary by Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. He served his Vicarage at a mission church in Towner, ND. For the last 18 years he has faithfully served Our Savior Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND and has been a vacancy pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Langdon, ND; Zion Lutheran Church, Munich, ND and presently serves a vacancy at St. Paul Lutheran Church, St. Thomas, ND. He has also been involved in the Circuit and District as a Circuit Counselor for 3 terms; ND District Board of Directors as Secretary and as a Pastoral Member-at Large.
